Change is inevitable
Nobody likes unwanted change lets face it , the unknown can be pretty damn scary especially when it comes to a job you’ve had for 12 years. My hubby and I found out recently our job is no longer going to be around come May 2010, I know a certain someone thought this was the funniest thing ever to laugh at what she thought was another person’s loss of income, but it’s not, sorry to burst your bubble. Actually we have the opportunity to transfer to another area of our job, with higher pay which is always a plus but we’ll probably see more “hands on” action if you will vs sitting all day at a computer. This is where the unknown change comes in. I’ll be the first to tell you I both love and hate my job. Love it because it’s easy peasy lemon squeezie, I get to listen to my mp3 player all day long and I can take lots of time off during the off peak seasons. I hate it because I have carpal tunnel issues, not as bad as before the double surgery but still it’s hard on the hands after time. So it’s hard because I don’t know what lies ahead other than a full time job with more pay and no weekends off or tons of time off since that department doesn’t have any off peak seasons.
Personally I’m with my boss, hubby and co-workers, I’m holding off on my transfer in case we stay open a bit longer, there are too many oddities with how our center was announced compared to the other ones. It’s like we’re a last hope if the economy picks next year or some other hopeful scenario not mentioned.
So change is inevitable and I don’t care for change but sometimes change is for the better. All I know is all will be revealed…
